City Council consider development of trails in the city.
Director of Engineering and Operations in Thunder Bay, Kayla Dixon, will be presenting a plan that will present a long term plan for work on the waterfront trail.
Dixon explains the goals of the plan in the short-term.
“In one to five years, we’re looking at kind of extending the trail south of the existing Prince Arthur’s Landing area, and doing some planning and design for the remaining part of the trail.”
The work would start in 2022, and Dixon says it would not prevent the public from using the trail.
“So the sections of trail we would be looking at in the short term are additions to the trail so they wouldn’t impact existing sections of the trail, but what we would look to do is extend from the end of the Waterfront Marina.”
One of the main focuses of the project will be connecting more trails to the city.
