Thunder Bay Police have arrested a 37 year old city man who was wanted on warrants in connection to a sexual assault which occurred this week and a weapons offence from August.
Officers with the Break and Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit discovered the whereabouts of the man at a Wilson Street address around 4PM and took him into custody. In his possession were several weapons, including a prohibited spring-loaded knife.
Despite being positively identified by officers, the accused denied he was the male officers were looking for.
He faces the following charges:
• Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 3
• Obstruct Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with Probation Order x 4
• Carrying Concealed Weapon
• Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
• Sexual Assault with a Weapon
• Using a Firearm while Committing Offence
• Uttering Threats – Death or Bodily Harm
He appeared in bail court today and was remanded into custody.
