Cleveland‘s Major League baseball team have given themselves a new name. They are now known as the Guardians. The move was made as institutions and teams, and even country music groups have dropped names that are considered racist. The team said they spent the last year whittling the list from more than 1,200 just a month ago. More details as to the choice will be discussed at a news conference at Progressive Field before Cleveland hosts the Tampa Bay Rays. The team announced the change with a video on Twitter, narrated by actor and fan Tom Hanks.
