Close to 5,000 Nova Scotia Power customers are without electricity, Friday evening.

According to the utility’s outage map, the affected area stretches from the Amherst area through to Advocate Harbour and Bass River.

The cause is a transmission interruption.

The estimated restoration time is 11 p.m, Friday.
