Part of Highway 1 in Lower Saulnierville is closed after a collision brought down power lines, according to the RCMP.

Mounties said the closure is in the 9000 block of the highway in a social media post shared around 11 a.m.

Nova Scotia Power is reporting an outage affecting more than 800 customers in the area.

The utility’s outage map lists the cause as a vehicle accident, with power going out around 10:23 a.m. and an estimated restoration time of 2:30 p.m.

The RCMP has not released details about the vehicles involved, whether anyone was injured or how long the road may remain closed.
