Congratulations to Dolly Parton! She has ended up on the list for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2022. The announcement was made today by the Rock Hall.

This was the first year of nomination for Dolly and she was also a big choice for the fan vote. What’s not to love. After being nominated Dolly famously said she was taking herself out of contention but the Rock Hall maintained she would stay on the list. Dolly said if she made it she would accept her induction “gracefully”:

Well, I’ll accept gracefully. I would just say thanks and I’ll accept it because the fans vote. But when I said that, it was always my belief that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was for the people in rock music, and I have found out lately that it’s not necessarily that. But if they can’t go there to be recognized, where do they go? So I just felt like I would be taking away from someone that maybe deserved it, certainly more than me, ’cause I never considered myself a rock artist. But. obviously, there’s more to it than that.

Remember that there are other musicians in other genres of music that are inducted every year because they all contribute to rock music. Dolly is very worthy and joins other country inductees Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Bill Monroe, Floyd Cramer and of course, Johnny Cash.
