Steven Del Duca spoke to media today over a video conference.

The provincial opposition leader spoke about how he and his party feels that the Doug Ford government has dropped the ball when it comes to publicly funded schools and supporting them through this pandemic.

Del Duca indicated that if the Liberal Party were in power, there would be certain things that would be in place;

Make the COVID vaccine a universal requirement for students through the Immunization of School Pupils Act, and run in-school clinics to ensure access
Ensure every classroom has HEPA filtration
Establish a rapid testing program in schools
Provide high quality masks for free to each student and education worker
Shrink class sizes by making use of gyms and community spaces as temporary classrooms
Implement strong vaccine mandates for education workers while prioritizing them for boosters
Launch an education campaign to combat misinformation and promote vaccine confidence among parents

At one point, at the 17.40 mark in the video, the opposition leader said that he believes that parents have such low expectations of Doug Ford’s leadership;

…that people just kind of throw up their hands and say “oh my goodness, I guess this is the best we have for now”…
