There is a heavy police presence in the Arthur Street and Casimir Avenue area in Dryden.
The provincial police are conducting an investigation.
Dryden High School resides in the area, and the school was placed under a hold and secure on Friday morning in response to the situation.
The public is also being asked to avoid the area.
The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says the provincial police asked the board to keep students inside until they receive an update.
There is no immediate threat to students’ safety, and the hold and secure is a precautionary measure.
The board plans on providing more information to families via its Messenger once the OPP advise them that the situation is over.
