A pedestrian has died after a being struck by a city transit bus.

Saint John Police say it happened Tuesday evening at MacLaren Boulevard and Itty Bitty Way.

The individual was taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Officers remained on scene for several hours as an investigation is underway.

No further details have been released.
