Fire crews are on scene of a structure fire in downtown Moncton, Monday evening.

In a post on social media around 6 p.m., Moncton Firefighters Association says it is on Lutz Street.

The fire union says it started as an explosion and is now a working fire.

They are asking residents to avoid the area.
