Bridgewater Police (BPS) recently executed a search warrant related to drug trafficking that resulted in five people being arrested.

On Thursday, July 18 BPS officers raided a residence on Summer Crescent after obtaining a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

While executing the search they found an ounce of crack cocaine, an ounce of cannabis, prescription medication, and weapons.

Three men and two women were subsequently arrested and taken into BPS custody.

So far only one of the women has been charged. The charges she faces include; Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a weapon.

She is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on September 11.

The investigation remains open and BPS says more charges are possible.

 

 


BRIDGEWATER, NS – On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at about 11:00 a.m. Bridgewater Police Service executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDA) at a residence on Summer Crescent in Bridgewater.

Police arrested three adult males and two adult females, while also seizing an ounce of crack cocaine, an ounce of cannabis, prescription medication, and weapons.

As a result of the investigation, an adult female has been charged with:

– Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under Section 5(2) of the CDA
– Two counts of possession of a weapon under Section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada

The woman was released on an undertaking to appear at the Bridgewater Provincial Courthouse at 9:30 a.m. on September 11, 2024, for plea.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be laid.
