Four 14-year-olds are facing charges after an alleged assault involving a weapon in Thunder Bay last week.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Primary Response Unit were called to the area of May Street and Southern Avenue shortly before 3:15 p.m. on Friday, October 16, following reports of an incident involving weapons.

Police say a group of four teenagers allegedly assaulted an individual. Investigators allege one of the suspects was carrying a knife, while others made threats to cause harm before the group left the scene.

Three suspects were located nearby and taken into custody shortly after the incident. Police say a fourth suspect was later identified and arrested at their residence that evening.

All four accused, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are 14 years old and face charges in connection with the investigation.

No further details about the victim’s condition have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
