The Canadian border will reopen to U.S. Citizens for non-essential reasons on August 9.
They must be fully vaccinated at least fourteen days prior to arriving.
They will have to submit proof of vaccination in advance through the ArriveCAN app.
Children under 12 not vaccinated will also be permitted if accommodate by a fully vaccinated adult.
Canada Border Services Agency will continue to do random testing.
Entry to Canada will continue to be prohibited for U.S. travellers who are not fully vaccinated and for all other foreign nationals unless they already meet certain exemptions.
Government officials say the goal is to have the border fully reopened by September 7.
