An $8,000 grant is helping out a land-based learning program for Indigenous youth.
EcoSuperior Environmental Programs is getting support from the TD Friends of the Environment Fund for its contributions to the Kendomang Zhagodenamnon Lodge (KZ Lodge) alternative program at Hammarskjold High School.
The program focuses on the Seven Grandfather Teachings and is a partnership between Lakehead Public Schools and the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre.
The money will let young people take part in more projects and opportunities like learning about traditional medicines, hide-tanning, and green projects like rain gardens.
The program also counts toward their high school credits.
