A Halifax filmmaker will soon find out if he’s nominated for another Oscar.

Last month the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Ben Proudfoot’s The Last Repair Shop was shortlisted in the Documentary Short Film category.

Proudfoot received his first Oscar nomination in 2020 for directing the documentary A Concerto Is a Conversation.

In 2021 he won an Academy Award for The Queen of Basketball in the Best Documentary Short Subject category.

Nominations will be announced Tuesday morning and the Oscars will be presented March 10th.
