August 1, 1991…..marks the 32nd birthday / anniversary of the invention of the WORLD WIDE WEB. Think about it, in order to read this…YOU ARE USING THE INTERNET. You’re on the WORLD WIDE WEB. Today is a day dedicated to commemorating the birth of the internet age.
And who invented it? Tim Berners Lee. Tim actually created it back in ‘89 while working for a Nuclear Research organization in Europe. And….the rest is history.
According to Forbes.com, as of today, there are over 1.1 billion websites. About 70% of them are inactive. Google is the most popular, followed by YouTube.
(FYI, Tim Berners Lee is 68 years old, has two kids, and is literally known as the “inventor of the internet”).
