Eastern Nova Scotia could see heavy snow and strong winds Sunday night and Monday as a developing low‑pressure system approaches the region.
In a Special Weather Statement issued Saturday, Environment Canada said the system may bring 20 centimetres or more of snow.
The agency said northwesterly wind gusts between 70 and 90 kilometres an hour are also possible, creating blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Environment Canada said the storm’s track remains uncertain, and forecasters will have a clearer picture as the system develops.
The agency said weather warnings may be issued if the low tracks close enough to eastern Nova Scotia.
Snow accumulation, strong winds and blowing snow could make travel slow or hazardous, according to the statement.
