A fatal collision near Kenogamisis Dam Road has resulted in ongoing highway closures as the Greenstone OPP continues its investigation.

Police were called to the scene around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026. 

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to the hospital with injuries.

 Images shared online of the crash appear to show that two tractor-trailers were involved in a head-on collision.

Highway 11 remains closed between Nipigon and Hearst, and Highway 631 is also shut down from Hornepayne to Highway 11. 

There is currently no estimate for when the routes will reopen.

The OPP says additional information will be released as it becomes available.
