Heavy snow has resulted in at least one collision and one jack-knifed transport.

The Ministry of Transportation says Highway 17 between the insection at Highway 71 and Vermilion Bay is closed because of an accident.

There is reduced visibility in that area, with sections of snow-covered mixed with bare conditions on other sections of the Trans-Canada.

There’s been no indication how long the closure will last.
