A really great story. Nadia Popovici is a fan of the new hockey team Seattle Kraken and was at their first home game against the Vancouver Canucks, when she alerted Canucks assistant equipment manager Brian “Red” Hamilton about a possible cancerous mole on the back of his neck. Hamilton had it checked out and found it was a malignant melanoma and had it removed, and saved his life, had he left it. He sent a message on the team’s Twitter page and was able to meet with her to thank her.

The Canucks and Kraken together awarded Nadia a $10,000 scholarship to medical school for her good deed. Well done.
