Local shelters will be adding extra space with heavy rainfall on the way, for people experiencing homelessness.

Beacon House Shelter in Sackville will be adding to their capacity and 902 Manup in Halifax will be adding an extra site at St. Matthew’s Church.

Tuesday night until Thursday morning.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement with up to 90mm possible along the Atlantic Coast of Nova Scotia.

People experiencing homelessness that need support across the province can call 211 to see what’s available in their community. In HRM, Outreach Workers will be out talking to people experiencing homelessness to let them know what supports are available. 3/3
