As of Saturday morning, Ontario officially lifted capacity restrictions on certain indoor settings, including arenas, concert venues and theatres.
This means that indoor arenas are allowed 100 per cent capacity permitted in spectator areas, and 50 per cent in all other places such as concession areas and common areas.
As a result of the increased screening processes, including proof of vaccination, the City of Thunder Bay is reminding people that there may be delays at the entrances of events such as a hockey game. They are encouraging spectators to arrive early, be patient, and practice kindness while waiting.
There is also a pre-screening option that will reduce wait times which can be found at www.thunderbay.ca/recreation.
Along with this the city is actively trying to recruit and train volunteers for these settings that would speed up the process.
