Todays’ the day that long term care staff need to have their first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine in order to go to work.
Those who work in long term care facilities need to provide that they’ve at least had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. If they don’t provide proof, they must have a medical exemption instead. Government data shows that 98 per cent of long term care employees have at least one dose.
Originally the deadline for both doses was today, November 15th. That got bumped because of new guidance on vaccine dose intervals from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).
The deadline to have both doses is December 13th.
