Lakehead University continues discussions about returning to in-person learning in the fall.

President Vice-Chancellor Dr. Moira McPherson maintains the conversations do include the Thunder Bay District Health Unit.

“Our students, faculty and students are all planning for delivery of programming and services that will be primarily face to face,” McPherson said. “At the end of the day, we will do everything we need to do to maintain a safe environment for our students and faculty.”

McPherson also confirmed ongoing work by the school’s international branch to welcome out of country students back.

“They continue to work tirelessly with the authorities, and with all the most up to date information that we can secure so we can effectively to plan for our international students,” McPherson added.

A few factors would need to be in place for in-person learning, including Ontario being in the final step of it’s staged approach to re-opening.
