Police in Saint John say they have made an arrest following an early morning murder in the city.
Officers were called to a reported shooting in an apartment on King Street East shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Investigators located the body of a 38-year-old man when they arrived at the scene.
At around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, officers conducted a ‘high-risk’ traffic stop on Main Street North and arrested a 31-year-old man.
The suspect, who investigators said was known to the victim, is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Police said they will not be releasing the name of the victim at the request of his family.
Detectives continue to gather evidence, including canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance in the 100-block of King Street East.
