The RCMP say two men have minor injuries after a man stuck one with a machete and physically assaulted the other.
The assault happened on Sunday around 1 a.m. in Prospect on Elaine Avenue.
Police report the man had a verbal altercation at a party and later returned with a sheathed machete and a large dog.
Officers with assistance from the Halifax Regional Police Canine Unit safely arrested the man.
The Prospect Bay man is charged with assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He appeared in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday and was released with conditions.
The 32-year-old man is scheduled to appear in court again in October.
