A 27-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison following a sexual assault in Moncton.

Mounties say a woman reported being sexually assaulted by a cab driver while on her way home from downtown on May 27, 2021.

Police arrested a suspect in the Moncton area several days later. He was subsequently released to attend court at a later date.

In March 2022, Rohan Singh appeared in Moncton Provincial Court and was charged with sexual assault.

Singh, who was from India but has been residing in Moncton, was later found guilty and was sentenced on Friday.
