Codiac RCMP are continuing to investigate a shooting incident in Moncton.

Corporal Dave Allard says it happened at around 6:31 pm Wednesday on Vail Street.

A 45-year-old man was shot and suffered what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries..

Allard confirmed this was not a random incident and there is no threat to the public.

There have been no arrests yet.

Allard adds it is still early in the investigation, and they are speaking to witnesses to obtain further information and a description of a suspect.
