An assault case has become a homicide in Thunder Bay.

Originally officers responded to a call at a home on May St N on May 31st at 7:45pm.

Paramedics were already attending to an male individual when police arrived.

TBPS arrested Raejon Raheem Johnson, a 22 year old man from Toronto, on June 2.

Police were notified that 34 year old Alan Cory Esquega, from Thunder Bay, had died as a result of his serious injuries.

With the assistance of the Brantford Police Service, the suspect was arrested on Friday, June 17.

Arrangements are being made to return to Thunder Bay on a charge of Second-Degree Murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
