A blustery and wet Wednesday is in store for Nova Scotia.

Rainfall and wind warnings are in effect, the storm will arrive in the early morning hours.

Some areas could get 5-10 centimetres of snow before changing over to rain.

Environment Canada meteorologist Bob Robichaud tells us what to expect.

“Localized flooding, especially in poor drainage areas. We’ll have some utility outages and hazardous driving conditions, with potential cancellations,” said Robichaud.

Winds could gust up to 100 kilometres an hour, with up to 40 millimetres of rain.

He says snow that fell in the western part of the province Sunday will melt.

Robichaud adds they’re keeping an eye on another potential storm for this weekend.

The Nova Scotia EMO office says they’re preparing for Wednesday’s blast of rain and wind.

They encourage people to be prepared and stock up on essential items.
