A fire north of Miramichi continues to burn out of control.
A home and three cottages were evacuated Saturday night due to the Old Field Road blaze, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
Fifteen more homes have been notified of a possible evacuation, if the fire continues to move in their direction.
The fire has jumped Highway 8 and burned about 20 hectares, they say the size of the fire is difficult to measure with smoke reducing visibility.
As of Saturday afternoon, it was estimated to be 240 hectares.
Another out of control fire is near Canterbury, it’s five hectares in size and is 15 percent contained as of Sunday at noon.
The entire province is under a burn ban, and activities in the woods are not allowed on Crown lands.
