MPP for Thunder Bay-Rainy River made the announcement today that federal money will be coming into the city to make upgrades to the Fort William Stadium and Legion Track.

Marcus Powlowski was on hand to make the announcement that $500,000 will be made available to for upgrades to the turf/track surface, a new modern score board with audio and visual capabilities will be installed as well as the existing asphalt will be replaced with two layers of impermeable levelled rubber asphalt track surface.

There’s some behind the scenes work happening on the stadium this year, but the big renovations and upgrades will be happening in 2023.
