We are in for yet another round of heavy rain in New Brunswick, according to Environment Canada.
A special weather statement has been issued for all of southern New Brunswick, including:
- Fredericton and Southern York County
- Fundy National Park
- Grand Lake and Queens County
- Grand Manan and Coastal Charlotte County
- Kent County
- Kouchibouguac National Park
- Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick
- Oromocto and Sunbury County
- Saint John and County
- St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County
- Sussex – Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County
Forecasters said rainfall totals could reach or surpass 50 millimetres, with rainfall rates of 25 millimetres per hour possible in some areas.
“Similar events have caused hazardous driving conditions and localized flooding in low-lying areas,” the weather agency said in its statement.
The rain is expected to move in Friday night and continue until early Sunday.
Similar rainfall totals are expected across Prince Edward Island, as well as western, central and northwestern Nova Scotia.
