Tax rates are staying the same in the Municipality of Yarmouth.

For the sixth straight year, the residential rate remains $1.18 per $100 of assessment, and the commercial rate holds at $2.17.

The municipality says they’re facing cost pressures, but council maintained key priorities without passing financial burden to residents.

Two new RCMP officer positions are part of a $4.23 million investment in protective services, there were also big costs in waste management and education.

The operating budget comes in at over $18 million,
