There will be a big number of music biopics on the way this year about Bob Marley, Cher, also a look at Whitney Houston in I Wanna Dance with Somebody, even Michael Jackson and Heart. Timothée Chalamet will star as Bob Dylan and Zendaya as Ronnie Spector. Coming up next month is a look at the life and music of the King of Rock n’ Roll Elvis Presley, played by newcomer Austin Butler, and his relationship with an almost unrecognizable Tom Hanks as the man who controlled his career Colonel Tom Parker. It’s from producer Baz Luhrmann who says it’s more of a salute to the singer with elements of fantasy with real-life events, like Elton John‘s Rocketman.

One interesting choice for a biopic will focus on Weird Al Yankovic, who had huge success with parodies of songs from Madonna, Michael Jackson and Nirvana. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe plays him, donning the afro, moustache and accordion, and seems to pull it off. The movie is coming up on The Roku Channel in the fall.
