A third person will represent New Brunswick at the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Track and field athlete Craig Thorne has been selected to compete in the men’s 110-metre hurdles.

The Quispamsis was nominated to compete last week after winning his second national title just days earlier.

Thorne will be the first male athlete to represent New Brunswick at the Olympics in 24 years. The last person to do it was Joël Bourgeois in 2000.

He will be joined by two fellow New Brunswickers: swimmer Brooklyn Douthwright and dressage rider Jill Irving, both from the Greater Moncton area.

The Games take place from July 26 to Aug. 11.
