Students across Nova Scotia are preparing to walk out of class Wednesday morning in protest of the provincial budget.

The coordinated action is scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, with organizers urging students at schools across the province to leave their classrooms at the same time.

Posters circulating on student social media channels point to cuts affecting education, arts programs and scholarship funding as the motivation behind the walkout.

Afterward, some groups are planning to march to the office of their local MLA to press their concerns.

It’s unclear how many students will take part, but promotion of the walkout has been spreading quickly online.

More to come…
