Passer-buyers spotted a duplex under renovations on Moncton’s Broadview Avenue on fire over the weekend.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Mike Lake says the call came in around 9 p.m. Saturday and stated the top floor of the duplex had fire and smoke coming out of its windows, firefighters extinguished the flames within the hour with four engines on the sence.

Lake also says fire marshalls and RCMP continue to investigate.

“They believe it may, and ill stress may have been caused by the workers who were there earlier in the day,” said Lake.

He also says there were no occupants inside the house at the time of the fire.
