Nova Scotia teacher’s union and the provincial government have reached a new “agreement in principle.”

However, that means the agreement is there but needs to be finalized, the premier says.

The premier told media on Thursday that the agreement addresses teachers’ concerns around school violence, wages and classroom conditions.

The premier has not released details of the agreement.

The Nova Scotia Teachers union previously voted 98 per cent in favour of a strike mandate last week.

The government and the union met for conciliation talks on Monday and Tuesday.
