The long awaited plan originally set for release sometime in July has officially been sent to school boards across the province.

In terms of masking, all students between grade 1 and 12 will have to wear a mask indoors unless they are eating or drinking.

Masks are not required for children in kindergarten, though the province is recommending it.

Masks will not have to be worn outdoors.

Students will be able to return to the classroom on a nearly normal basis, grades 1 through 12 returning to the classroom five days a week, with secondary students having only five hours of lessons and instruction each day.

There will no longer be screening at school doors in the morning. Instead, parents are being asked to screen their children prior to sending them to school.

Staff as well are being asked to screen themselves at home prior to arriving to work.

This is a developing story…
