A pedestrian has been sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car at Robie Street and Veterans Memorial Lane.

It happened just before 6 p.m., Monday evening and according to Halifax police, multiple reports came in that the same vehicle was involved in another collision on Beech Street and Jubilee Road.

Traffic is blocked in both directions on Jubilee Road and Veterans Memorial Lane between Beech Street and Summer Street.

Robie Street is blocked in both directions at Jubilee Road and Veterans Memorial Lane.

The driver has been arrested and is being charged with dangerous driving.

Police say the roadways will remain closed for an extended period of time while officials investigate.
