One person has life-threatening injuries after they were hit by a garbage truck this morning.

According to multiple reports, it happened at about 5:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Lacewood Drive.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital and part of the road is closed between Willett Street and Dunbrack Street.

No cars can come or go from the shopping plaza for now.

Police say it could be closed for some time and ask drivers to find an alternate route.
