Bridgewater Police have arrested a man after finding a grenade in his home.

Officers say they searched the home on Thomson Drive on Tuesday.

Inside, they found two handguns, bullets and what they believe was a live grenade.

The man faces several charges, including:

  • having an explosive substance with intent to endanger life
  • two counts of failing to comply with a release order (possessing a weapon and possessing drugs)
  • five counts of possession of prohibited firearm, ammunition or explosive while prohibited by order
  • two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes
  • two counts of careless storage of a firearm
  • four counts of possession of a firearm without a license
  • possession of a restricted firearm with accessible ammunition

Police say he’s had five previous firearms-related convictions and is currently under a lifetime gun ban.

He appeared in court yesterday.
