It’s been a busy Tuesday for Thunder Bay police with significant events in opposite ends of town.
We begin with an on-going stand-off in the north end, on Conmee Street, near Gertrude Avenue.
Police say they were called there after 7am, to reports of a situation involving a man, possibly with a gun.
As the morning wore on, police made several attempts to reach him, including tactics that involved loud bangs, as well as a loudspeaker.
Police are expecting a resolution sometime within a few hours, although it is difficult to pinpoint a time as they use a variety of tactics to end this. They add there are more details, but those cannot be released at this time.
Meanwhile, police are also dealing with what they’re calling a serious incident in the James Street bridge area.
They were called early Tuesday morning, and still have James Street, between Gore and the James Street swing bridge closed, although southbound traffic can cross the James Street bridge from Montreal Street.
