The RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section is asking for the public’s help as officers continue to investigate a shooting in Westphal.
Police say the incident happened around 5:45 p.m. on January 29 in a parking lot along the 700 block of Highway 7.
According to investigators, a 19‑year‑old Dartmouth man was sitting in a parked Buick Envista when a BMW X3 pulled into the lot. The driver got out of the BMW and fired shots into the Buick before fleeing the area headed east. The victim was not injured.
A short time later, officers spotted the BMW on North Preston Road in North Preston.
They attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped away. It was later found abandoned in the 900 block of North Preston Road and has since been seized as part of the investigation.
The Buick was also seized for forensic examination.
