The number of power outages is beginning to climb as the latest storm impacts New Brunswick.
NB Power reported nearly 2,400 homes and businesses without electricity as of noon Monday.
That includes 1,103 customers in the Central York/Sunbury region, 517 in Carleton, 503 in Charlotte Southwest, 139 in Kennebecasis Valley/Fundy, and 112 in Victoria/Madawaska.
There are also scattered outages in the Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe, Kent, and Kings/Queens regions.
“NB Power’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is open and actively coordinating the response to help with restoration efforts throughout the province,” the utility said on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Customers are encouraged to be prepared by having their 72-hour emergency kit ready in the event of an outage.
You can find the latest estimated restoration times for each outage on NB Power’s website.
Meanwhile, Saint John Energy is not currently reporting any outages at this hour.
Southerly winds gusting to between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour are forecast across southern and central New Brunswick starting early Monday afternoon and continuing until late evening.
