We’re remembering Queen Elizabeth II for her 70 years of service to the British monarchy. Before she became Queen, Princess Elizabeth as she was known, joined the military during the second World War in 1945. She became the first female member of the Royal Family to join the Armed Services as a full-time active member. Princess Elizabeth was trained as a driver and mechanic and was promoted five months later to Junior Commander. The Imperial War Museum released this video. The queen said that she wanted to do her part for the war effort.
