A fatal snowmobile crash in the Poison Lake area of Cumberland County is under investigation.

First responders, including the Collingwood Volunteer Fire Department, were called to the crash late Friday night. The victim died from his injuries.

While on scene, an incident involving a fire truck from the department took place.

The RCMP is now investigating.

The firefighter driving the vehicle has stepped aside from all duties while the investigation is ongoing.

The Municipality has extended condolences to the victim’s family and friends but says it will not be making further comments out of respect for those involved.
