Mounties are searching for a man believed to be armed and dangerous in northeastern New Brunswick.

RCMP said Keith Martin was last seen on Diggle Point Road in Esgenoopetitj First Nation, near Neguac.

Police issued an emergency alert, saying that he was reported to be carrying weapons with intent to use them.

Martin was last seen driving a dark-coloured Hyundai Tucson with Nova Scotia licence plates.

Martin has dark hair and was wearing a grey jacket, army jeans, a black winter hat, and carrying a bag. He also has a bandage and blood on his forehead.

“If you see him or the vehicle, call 911 immediately and do not approach,” said police.

Residents in the area are being told to stay inside with their doors locked.
