The Town of Port Hawkesbury will be closing a major road during the Remembrance Day ceremony Tuesday.
To honour veterans with a moment of silence, Reeves Street will be shut down from Granville Street North to Pitt Street starting at 11 a.m. for 10 minutes.
The road closure is to minimize traffic noise experienced in previous years.
Guests planning to attend are asked to arrive at the cenotaph in Veterans Memorial Park by 10:40 a.m.
We will be broadcasting the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 43 ceremony live on-air and streamed on our 1015 The Hawk Announcers Facebook page starting around 10:50 a.m.
There’s also a recently painted red and white striped crosswalk to honour local veterans that goes across the MacSween Street entranceway to the provincial building.
